Food Aversion Study For Anorexia Nervosa

You may be eligible for this study if:

You are a female and 18 years of age or older
-
You have been diagnosed with anorexia nervosa by a clinician
-
You are not pregnant
*Recruitment for healthy controls is closed

During the research visit, you will be asked to:
-
Complete questionnaires
-
Eat a breakfast sandwich
-
Donate a small amount of blood
Study Rationale
Individuals with anorexia nervosa often experience difficulties with eating. The risk of developing anorexia nervosa and the discomfort associated with eating are in part due to the ways genes influence food metabolism. This study aims to understand how genetic and biochemical factors explain the food discomfort in anorexia nervosa. The knowledge gained from this study will help us develop improved interventions and treatments.
